Actualization of the issue with sustainable quality ensuring of iron ore raw materials in the conditions of mining department PJSC "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih"

ABSTRACT

Purpose. To analyze the level of provision of the enrichment complex of the mining department of PJSC "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih" with iron ore of constant quality to stabilize and increase the efficiency of processing. 

Methods. A statistical analysis of the operational data of the Fe magnet mass fraction has been carried out at all technological stages - from the face to the ore-processing plant (OPP), the standard deviation and the coefficient of variation were calculated in order to determine the production links with the greatest quality deviations from the planned values.

Findings. It has been established that as a result of alternate mixing of ore cargo flows of pits No. 2-bis and No. 3 in cycles, the averaging results deteriorate, which is expressed in the form of excess fluctuations in the raw material quality of the combined ore cargo flows. The necessity of applying the methods and means of quality control and management, developed by the team of the problem-branch laboratory of the Krivoy Rog National University, has been substantiated.

Originality consists in the scientific substantiation of the choice of methods and means for managing the quality of ores for the conditions of the quarries of the mining department of PJSC "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih", carried out on the basis of the analysis of the operational data of the mass fraction of Fe magnet in all technological links - from the face of the open pit to the OPP.

Practical implications. Application in the mining department of PJSC "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih" of the proposed technological solutions in order to stabilize the raw material quality of ore cargo flows of pits No. 2-bis and No. 3 can significantly reduce fluctuations in the content of the useful component over time, providing the OPP with iron ore raw materials of appropriate quality
