Procedure for submitting manuscripts for publication

This procedure outlines the stages of manuscript processing from submission to official publication on the journal’s website, ensuring high-quality scientific content and adherence to processing deadlines.

1. Submission and initial review stage (date of first submission).

Authors submit their article materials to the journal’s official email:This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. The Editorial Board conducts an initial review of the manuscript for compliance with formal requirements (structure, citation formatting, volume, presence of abstracts, UDC, authors’ ORCID, etc.). If the manuscript meets the technical requirements, the article is registered. The date of receipt of the email is considered the date of first submission to the Editorial Board.

2. Stage (independent review).

After successfully verifying that the article meets the formal requirements, the Editorial Board sends the article to two independent reviewers (experts in the relevant field of knowledge). The review is conducted confidentially. Based on the results of the review, the Editorial Board sends the authors information by e-mail regarding:

  • acceptance of the article (positive reviews);
  • the need to address reviewers' comments;
  • rejection of the article (negative reviews).

If the article needs revision, the authors make changes and return the material, which can be sent for re-review if necessary.

3. Decision making and preparation for publication (Publication date following peer review).

Based on positive reviews and the verified, revised text, the Editorial Board makes the final decision on whether to include the article in the next issue. Authors receive an official notification of the Editorial Board's decision to accept/reject the article via e-mail. The publication date after review is set as the day of final approval of the text by the Editorial Board for publication. The period between the date of first submission and the date of publication after review by the Editorial Board is approved by at least one month.

4. Official publication (date of publication on the website).

The final publication of articles on the journal’s website is based on the decision of the Academic Council of the publishing organization (Dnipro University of Technology), taking into account the reviews provided. After this, the full texts of the articles are made available in open access on the journal’s website. The publication date on the website is considered the date when the electronic version of the issue is uploaded. The period between the date of publication after review and the date of publication on the journal’s websiteis at least one month, as approved by the Editorial Board. After uploading the metadata and full-text versions of the manuscripts, the publisher registers a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) for the issue and for each PDF version of the articles.

Example of a timeline for manuscript publication process

Date of first submission: January 1st.

Publication date after review: February 1 (after passing two reviewers and aligning the manuscript with reviewers’ comments).

Date of publication on the website: no earlier than March 1st (following the approval of the Academic Council and technical upload to the website).

The cost of processing and publishing, including the preparation of the printed version of the issue, is 1000 UAH per article.
